Who is Jean-Luc Lajoie, Jeremy Camp’s friend in “I Still Believe?”

If you’ve seen I Still Believe, you’re probably wondering who Jean-Luc Lajoie is.

Yes, the lead singer of The Kry was a prominent part of Jeremy’s life, and the film shows that.

But you’ll be surprised to know that not everything (in fact, a good majority) was not as it was in the film, according to Jeremy’s book, originally written in 2003.

Watch below to find out who Jean-Luc is, as well as learn the 23 major differences between the film and the book, many of which involve him! Oh ya…and learn about that famous love triangle in the film that was supposedly between him, Melissa and Jeremy.

You can also learn more about Melissa Camp, and see an interview with Jean-Luc here.

Why didn’t Jeremy Camp sing his own music. Very disappointing to hear the actor who portrayed him sing instead of Camp’s real voice !

Could have been far better and more authentic if Camp had sang his own songs, the ones that were applicable to his experience in this movie. Definitely loss points for this movie.

wept throughout this authentic movie…its the good fight of faith…Is God really good? In the midst of grievious injustice and loss? ABSOLUTELY!! And truly working all things together for our good…Those that live Him foe who He really is and are the called according to His purpose….to save the world with His sacrifice…Increase our faith Father…

Carol, I absolutely loved your response! Yes, God is good through every circumstance! And when healing comes for the believer…it will be for either here or in Heaven. And that gives us so much hope!

I hope to never see another movie that could have been great but the actor sang the songs instead of the gifted singer who the movie was about in which I went to the movie to hear sing in the first place! Otherwise it was a good movie that could have been better. Melissa Camp & her faith in God was the real hero of this story! Glad he included his current wife and kids.

This movie was Fantastic. I believe this is the way God wanted. I don’t think you need to be so critical. I don’t like going to movies if the actor isn’t Singing.
Anyway you look at it this movie was Wonderful, Authentic and it was exactly what Jeremy camp wanted.

BRITTANY, God is Good All the Time…In Challenging and unprecedented times!. this is so true like no other in this year ‘2020’
I’ve personally this year, like I’m sure many of us, have been challenged in these times. To Trust and learn to be still and experience the Grace of God’s promise and Love. How amazing is His Devine Plan. Each day I read His Scriptures, each day learning to listen to the Truth of the Spirit, Praying for a stronger understanding and a closer relationship with Him, while experiencing His Promise ( His Covenant) to us .. Peace, Grace and Mercy to you Always.. Thank You BRITTANY..
        Sincerely, Ken.

Brittany, I appreciated your insight on the differences between the book and the movie especially about how Jeremy and Adrienne met. I’ll have to make sure my girls watch the movie or read the book. You are adorable and have natural talent which will take you far. I should know I’m a mom!!

    Blessings!

Jeremy is my favorite contemporary. How can one movie be the saddest movie and the best movie you will ever watch all at once?

This is an amazing movie, my husband and I watched it on our anniversary. What gets me tearful is usually when he says “I didn’t get to say goodbye.” It reminds me of how I was not able to say goodbye to my step-father, he had several brain tumors. Long story short- we decided to go see him in the morning for me to say goodbye. But around midnight… just 8 hours before we were going to see him, my mother called and said he had gone to heaven. Jeremy Camp’s story is one that everybody will love!

Hi Brittany, This a great review and it was a great moive. I don’t understand why as a Christian he allowed Hollywood to add to the story and flasely add lib to it. I’m dissapointed that the movie is not what happened in real life now. Why not make it more to the real life story instead of lieing for Hollywood?

My husband and I watched this movie together last night. There was not a dry eye in our family room! We are walking through a 5 year diagnosis of Parkinsons Disease and all that comes with it. Not our plan, but rest knowing that this didn’t catch God by surprise and He still has a plan for our lives! How refreshing to see that Melissa realized this so early in her life,I’m sure it had to be a comfort with all that she went through. God is good…

The movie was well done, though it always bugs me in any biographical movie that they add things that weren’t real. I wouldn’t want to be Jean-Luc and have people thinking he had a love triangle going when in real life it wasn’t him.

I don’t care what’s true or not in the movie and real life. It’s a beautiful movie, all the actors are outstanding. I’m 63yrs and Jeremy Camp is one of my favourite gospel singers. I blessed to know of he’s early life.
