When the Guy You Like Doesn’t Feel the Same, Don’t Ever Think You’re “Plain”

When the Guy You Like Doesn’t Feel the Same, Don’t Ever Think You’re “Plain”

Whether you’re the beauty queen or the bullied girl, you both have something in common, and you may not even know it yet.

At least one time in their life, every girl or woman has experienced a time when the guy they liked, didn’t like them back. And for many, that’s happened on several occasions.

Feelings of rejection are most tough to navigate when you’re in middle and high school. But no matter when it happens, it still stings.

Remember when your parents tried to make you understand that they too shared many emotions, rejections, heartbreaks and triumphs as you did? How many of you we’re like “Ok mom and dad. You don’t get it. It was different back then.”

I can confirm that it doesn’t matter if it’s 1800, 1970, 2020 or 3055. Feelings don’t change, surroundings do.

And many times, when a guy rejects you, your first thought is that there’s something wrong with you. If you looked this way, if you wore that, if you could do your make-up like her or buy those clothes, you’d be prettier.

But the reality is this: God made just one of you. And that one of you is going to be one person’s whole world one day.

And you can’t actually be the whole world to multiple guys, so naturally, they’re not all going to feel the same way about you as you do about them. And while it certainly hurts when the guy you like doesn’t like you back…or likes someone else…I can also confirm that he won’t be your last crush.

It’s easy to think that you’re just not pretty enough, that you’re plain. But in fact, that’s far from the truth.

Remember what I said about feelings staying the same, no matter what place in time it is?

Well, take a listen to “Plain” by the early 2000s girl group, Zoe Girl. 20 years later, and its lyrics speak volumes to girls and woman everywhere.

‘You tell me you’re not the type,

The kind of girl that they like,

And your a little insecure about how you look in their eyes.

Well fashion will change and trends come and go everyday,

But God only made one of you and

There’s nothing about you thats plain…’

FYI…you can go apologize to your mom now. : )
