It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.
Friends, if you’re human (and literally everyone who’s reading this is), you’ve experienced moments in life that have been both a blessing and a curse.
Such was the case for many of us living in Texas during the worst winter storm we’ve experienced in recent years.
Was the snowfall beautiful and the blanket of snow out our window a mesmerizing sight? Absolutely.
But being without power, water or a combination of both woke us out of that Hallmark fantasy.
Shortly before the storm, I received a pair of the most visually stylish, well put-together and structured hiking boots from Giesswein.
Initially, I was planning on using them for my hiking experiences, as I vowed to get serious about my health and fitness this year. By God’s grace, I have so far.
During this particular week though, these boots were put to good use ahead of schedule; they helped me navigate safely through the snow. Trust me, tennis shoes and sneakers don’t cut it, as many in Texas figured out firsthand.
I was both grateful and impressed by the shoes, that I decided to document the experience, which you can view above or by clicking here.
But, these boots aren’t made only for one season, which is evident by the design of the boot. In fact, I’m gonna be visiting some cool places very soon; places filled with glorious hills and mountains waiting to be hiked.
And yes, there’s only one pair of hiking boots I’m taking with me; the Giessweins. As much as I appreciate style (OK, I’m sort of obsessed), I’m still practical. As a rule, I will choose comfort and usability over fashion. But I didn’t have to choose with these. They are sturdy, well-designed, and stylish.
And God-willing, with where I’m going in the coming weeks, these will surely be needed.
