He has finished the race.
Ravi Zacharias passed away on Tuesday at the age of 74. The famed Christian apologist revealed two months ago that he was battling cancer.
His daughter, Sarah Davis, announced the sad news in a post on his ministry page, RZIM.org.
“It was his Savior, Jesus Christ, that my dad always wanted most to talk about. Even in his final days, until he lacked the energy and breath to speak, he turned every conversation to Jesus and what the Lord had done. He perpetually marveled that God took a seventeen-year-old skeptic, defeated in hopelessness and unbelief, and called him into a life of glorious hope and belief in the truth of Scripture—a message he would carry across the globe for 48 years.”
According to Sarah, “our family will gather for a graveside service. In the days ahead we will provide details for a public memorial service to be held in Atlanta and streamed around the world.”
Instead of flowers, the family asks that if you would like, to continue supporting Ravi’s ministry financially.
Friends, as you may or may not know, I am currently a student of Christian Apologetics at Biola University.
Ravi and his ministry have strongly influenced many in my field of study, and because of his diligence to God, he and his work have impacted the mind of seekers, thinkers, and budding apologists all over the world.
I encourage all of you reading this to continue to follow the Lord if you are, and if you’re not, but have questions, please find Ravi’s videos on Youtube to help you out.
There’s nothing wrong with questions. We all have them. But it’s our job to do the appropriate investigative work to find the truth.
And the truth…it’ll set us free.
