New music and new dad; yep, that’s Colton Dixon’s current life.
I recently chatted with the American Idol Season 11 finalist, who made a name for himself in the Christian music market post reality TV.
On Friday, the 28-year-old released his much-anticipated EP, Colton Dixon. The young father – his wife Annie is currently expecting- is signed to a new label, Atlantic Records.
His career has taken a turn, as he’s now a part of the mainstream market, having previously been with Capitol CMG, a Christian label.
But despite the change, his message is still the same. In our chat, Colton admitted that he and his label “went back and forth” when it came to deciding if the first single should reach his Christian audience, or a broader one to grow it.
He also revealed the story behind how Annie to him she was expecting, and how Kanye West inspired him to change up his record once he heard his album.
