One of Christian music’s biggest names is pulling back the curtain into her personal life, with her latest song, Even At My Worst.
In a video released Thursday, singer Blanca shared the story behind her latest song, which came from pain suffered by the death of her parents, and a divorce from ex-husband Benny Callahan.
Reportedly, the two divorced in December 2020, after having been separated for two years prior.
“Over the last few years, I’ve faced some very challenging situations, from walking through both of my parents passing away, to then a very hard divorce.”
The mom of son London, 7, said that she felt that God would be “disappointed” in her, but that instead, God showed her “his grace, his mercy and his love.”
Blanca, 35, began her career as one-half of the duo, Group 1 Crew, before embarking on a solo career in 2013.
Recently, the singer has been getting in touch with her Puerto Rican roots, as her music has gravitated towards a Latin sound, while keeping to her Christian message.
Her fans have reacted positively to the move, appreciating her musical diversity while keeping her love for Christ.
Blanca’s latest musical releases feature her teaming up with some of the biggest in Christian Latin music, including Christine C’Clario, Genio and Gawvi.
